Overview
The Coats Maxx 90 Rim Clamp Tire Changer is supplied by Liftnow in 2 drive configurations: air or 220V 2-Speed. It replaces the Coats 90X series, including the 90XAHL and 90XEHL, which Coats has discontinued.
The Coats MAXX 90 is the top model of the Coats Maxx series of tabletop rim clamp tire changers for passenger car and light/medium truck alloy and steel wheels, built by The Coats Company (Hennessy Industries) in Nashville, Tennessee. It clamps wheels externally with four air-cylinder-operated GripMax 2.0 extended clamps on a no-index tabletop, and comes standard with the Coats Leverless Bead Lifter tool head plus two powered helper devices, the RoboRoller bead depressor and the articulating Robo-Arm. Bead loosening is dual control (hand shovel or foot pedal) on the Maxx 80 and Maxx 90. Bead seating uses a dual-nozzle sealing system fed from a reservoir in the tower. Dealer SKUs differ by drive and by whether the Maxx Wheel Lift is fitted: MAXX90220 and MAXX902SPDL use the 220V two-speed electric drive, MAXX90A and MAXX90AL use the air (pneumatic) drive, and the AL and 2SPDL suffixes carry the Maxx Wheel Lift. It suits high-volume tire dealers, fleet and municipal shops, and general repair bays that service large-diameter and low-profile or run-flat assemblies and want a leverless, damage-reducing tool head.
